I do that classic raceing line here. I'm sure some will differ but this is what I like. I enter the corner by moving substantially right then before seeing the corner, I take the leap of faith and turn in. It feels really early, but If you time it right you are lined up perfectly for the first apex by the time you see it. I put my left wheels on the white line, almost in the ditch on the left. At this point the car is pointed fairly straight so it is not upset too badly by the frost heave after the apex. By the first apex I am on the gas substantially. If the angle is right, the car will settle and drift out about half way between the two apexes. In the middle of the track the hill will catch you and the car will be lined up perfectly for the second apex and trackout - without changing your steering angle. As soon as the car settles from the bump and before mid corner I am full throttle. I track all the way out and continue to corner 3. Some say they go a bit wide on the first apex to avoid the bump. I find I am not loaded much when I go over the bump so it doesn't bother me. It could be that they turned in too late and are loaded at the bump which I agree would not be fun. Some say they like to miss the first apex all together and take it as a single late apex. I think they just like to see the apex and avoid turning in blind. I find the outside at the top way too scary. If you make a mistake out there you don't have much room to fix it. It's a long way down. Opinions? |

I tryed the single apex approach on the reccomendation of a coach. I didn't like it, The coach then went with me, He didn't like the feeling either from the right side of the car. I need to work more on different lines this year to prepare for racing to be able to make passes. |

Peter, I do much the same as you, but I don't go out all the way to the right before turn-in at the top. There's a seam in the pavement to the right of centre...I put that about in the middle of the car, hit the first apex early, and the second late. No claim made as to whether it's a great line, but it seems to work for me. |
