Tire pressure on low profile Hoosier R6's
Anyone using less pressure in real low profile Hoosier R6's than in the higher profile R6's?

Not sure what you mean by "low profile". I have used R6's 275/40-17, and have set cold temps at 24 front and 22 rear, and they seem to work much better than previously when I had 4 psi more on each tire.

265 35 19 and I am at 25 20 F/R everyone says that i gotta go higher regardless of my corner weights (831 838 / 687 677). My pressures grow 5psi with air. never tried nitrogen. Thanks Isi.

Learned something very interesting first hand: My low pressures were due to a need for suspension compliance. My shocks were too stiff. The tire manufacturers really know their stuff when they recommend a pressure for a vehicle weight. Now I can see more grip and pressure increase.

Damn, these responses are old....I consider the direction of the course and if there are any sweepers or tire grinder corners...the side of the car facing these tough spots, gets less tire pressure, 1 pound less seems to work for my 3200 Lb 993 car. Naturally I also consider ambient temperature, the hotter the day the lower the starting pressures.

27 Front, 26 rear, and 28 front and 27 rear on the less lightly stressed side of the car.My tire pressure go up about 5 Lbs. too. But 25/20, wow that seems low to me....
