Friends

Neat site, thanks Peter.  But...being and old guy, not familiar with social networking on the web, and only passingly acquainted with it elsewhere, I have a question.  Actually, several questions.  They arise from the fact that there seem to be all these friendships developing.  I don’t seem to be anyone’s friend!  So...
1)    What’s a friend?
2)    Why would I want one?
3)    Why would I want to be someone else’s friend?
4)    Finally...whatever they are...why don’t I have any?????

Yours from the wilderness...
Bill

Uh, oh...update...as I was trying to figure out how to make a post to ask about friends, Peter seems to have made an overture.  Should I be anxious?

Friends are essentially that. People that you know and care about.

The site assumes that the photos and comments you want to see mostly are from people that you know. So when you log in, it will show you what your friends have done. You can also set permissions on things you post to be visible only to your friends.

It may not seem like a big dea now, but once this site has 100,000 members, friendhips will make a big difference.

To make friends, you click on people's profile and click the link to add them as a friend. They will get a message asking them to confirm the friendship.

What do you mean you don't have any friends? According to the system I am your friend...

The other good way to find friends is to bring your own. Use the invite feaure (at the top) to invite new people to join the site.
