Not to detract from the obvious idiocy of the driver, but it seems like a pretty dumb idea to have a 2-foot-deep gutter just 12" from the edge of the track.

BTW, have you seen the rest of this video, Peter? The video of them trying to get the car back out of the ditch is pretty entertaining. They do far more damage getting it out then they did getting it in.

Reminds me of a two-year old video showing two Brits playing heroes at a private track days.

Funny how you can tell they are morons even when you can't understand a word they are saying. Looks to me like the track was under construction / renovation while they were on it. Large piles of sand, trench drains, what appear to be underground hoses for an irrigation system. My guess is that they were told that they could drive the track SLOWLY and then the moron gene took over. Too bad, as they really messed up a very nice car.
