How To - Embedding Vimeo Videos

Vimeo videos are only a little but harder to embed. There is no Vimeo button but there is a Flash button.

1) Upload your video to Vimeo and wait for them to post it.

2) Locate your video on Vimeo.com and then copy the Embed Code </> at the top right of the screen.

3) Copy only the part that is the URL of your movie. after the param="movie" value=

E.g.

<object width="400" height="300"><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="movie" value="http://vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=3247359&amp;server=vimeo.com&amp;show_title=1&amp;show_byline=1&amp;show_portrait=0&amp;color=&amp;fullscreen=1" /><embed src="http://vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=3247359&amp;server=vimeo.com&amp;show_title=1&amp;show_byline=1&amp;show_portrait=0&amp;color=&amp;fullscreen=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" width="400" height="300"></embed></object><br /><a href="http://vimeo.com/3247359">PBOC Winterfest 2009 Sprint 1</a> from <a href="http://vimeo.com/user670675">Peter Carroll</a> on <a href="http://vimeo.com">Vimeo</a>.

4) In the editor, click the Flash button (f) and paste in this URL.

5) Optionally, you can change the width and height to make it larger. Please do not exceen 600 wide.

Warning: Through experimentation I have had a lot of trouble with the Google Chrome browser eating my content in the editor. It works great for surfing the site but I would not use Chrome to edit your content yet.

When you edit a Blog or a Forum Post look for a little Movie icon in the toolbar for YouTube or an (f) icon for Vimeo. If you are replying to a post (like here) you have to click "or use the standard form" as below here...
