Beginning of an addiction
Updated 2 year(s) ago
Starting with the Bridgestone/Firestone Academy, I became addicted to the track.
I began to like the smell of fuel and burned rubber....
My clothe and body are stained with oil most of the time !
My banker became worried of my sudden rise in expenses
I even started to join web groups...
Help !

#111 BMW E36 / S54 CM racer
Updated 1 year(s) ago
OK guys;
This one I like a lot, it was bought in 2007
A BMW M3 1995 with a full cage and a very well prepared chassis.
Full Moton/Eibach suspension, Tilton hydraulics.
Bimmerworld aerodynamics
It was raced to support MIRA foundation at "Le Grand Prix de Mirabel" and "Le Grand Prix de Trois Rivières" in CTCC ( Canadian Touing Car Championship ) year 2008.
I raced it also in BMW CCA at Mosport last year.
Like most Touring BMW, it was a DM car
It also went on a diet this winter in the bodyshop ( sheetmetal to composite ) and lost 200 pounds along the way
The track was widened to use 265s slicks
And then, I dropped a S54 engine in the car and made it a CM car.....To be followed in 2010.....
BMW M3 LTW racer NOW Sold.....

A "love/hate" relationship is what it is.
A true E36 M3 LTW that was raced in Speedvision by TC Kline as the " yellow car "
I bought it in 2005.
I have done everything wrong with this car.
I bought it half done ( the bad half )
The other half I have mostly done by myself.
Means really amateur work...
It still carries 100 pounds of useless wires
Cage is soft and obtrusive, ergonomy terrible
I raced it in CM, HP and JP with different engines and suspension set-up.
I used it as a learning tool and It did show me a lot along the way.
I never tried to be competitive in class and I always ran bone stock engines till sept 2008.
For BMW CCA O Fest at Watkin's Glen, we used a 2,8L built around prepared rules.
We finished 2nd/30 cars in JP class in the National feature race.
We did some work to make it an endurance racer from now on.
Here are some pics of this car from 2005 to now...
And then, the chassis got too soft for racing and I sold it in VA

This is the newbie in the stable !
Love at first sight....

Bought in 2008 in Virginia with my CTCC engineer Yvan Turcotte
Chassis was acid dipped and seam welded before receiving a custom cage. Very clean prep, fonctionnal cockpit ( old style ).
Lexan and composite bodywork all around helps bring to weight down to a lean 2150 pounds dry !
The drivetrain is very reliable, S50B30 stock engine, motorsport chip, headers and custom 3" exhaust, Sacks HD clutch, ZF and a 3,64 LSD
No power steering, no brake booster, no ABS ! The real thing and a blast to drive.
It needs some suspension work. It carries custom valved Konis and Eibach springs, non adjustable sway bars
It would make a killer NASA racer with some suspension upgrades

Paul Janusauskas and I just bought Ron Checca's "old" racer. A clean low milleage theft recovery in 1999.
We plan on using it in the proposed M3T class ?
I also plan to register for Targa Newfoundland next september. It would fit Category 5, level2 and should be competitive.
