My write up begins as saying this was an incredible weekend and gigantic learning experience.  Unfortunately there was tons of carnage and wrecks though and sorry to all of you who may have had an incident.

Friday-  Practice was awesome as I got to try a brand new set of hoosier wets for the first time ever and they are freiking awesome.  Amazing amounts of grip compared to the full tread RA1's we ran before.

Saturday sprint race 1-   I qualified 14th position over all for my first race and was very happy.  Mid pack in the very fast IP field.  When we were doing our warmup laps I noticed a black furled flag pointing at me at 3 separate stations making me say son of a gun.....I came in and they told me it was for the person behind me.  This is when I start slamming my fists on my steering wheel and take off like a bat out of hell to do some catching up on a damp track.  By the time I was out of the pits the back of the pack was over top of madness.  I was moving pretty good doing all kinds of drifting on this slippery track and made up positions slowly but steadily to 18th overall.  Saved my self a little for sprint 2.  Kept my nose clean and ran a solid first race  aside from my rookie error of coming in for that black flag!

Saturday sprint race 2-  Because of the thousand of incidents in sprint race1 the results were late and the grid was left open late which they didn't announce.  Me being a rookie thought I should get there on time...and see barely anyone there and what do you know the rain comes again!  IM on slicks and say O Shit.  MAkard spun leaving the grid and man o man was it slippery on slicks.  Basically I drove slow didn't get myself involved in anything and let the guys who came to the grid late with rains just keep going around me.  But once again a good performance and smart race I believe.

Qualifying on Sunday-  On saturday i got zero fast laps on qualifying due to traffic and a red flag session when a racer broke an ankle due to a single car accident.  They told me they were checkering the session so I went up to the trailer.  This is where the other rookie mistake comes in.  They let everyone get two more laps and people said this was when they were setting hot laps.  Sundays qualifying I didn't get a completely clear lap but managed the traffic and got a pretty good qualifying position of 14th.  I had a terrible start and got behind mr. Payant hoping he was going to lead me through some traffic but picked the wrong lane as a train of like 8 passed us on the inside. I started moving very fast around traffic after this point when the field spread out laying down 40's and 41's consistently and a 39.2 which is a personal record of mine!  I was on pace of the IP winner for that race anyway.  With like 5 laps i was chasing geoff atkinson and bill heumann down when I was making a double pass on the inside of 7 and spun while backing out of the pass thinking it was better to stay in one piece.  Got it going again and on the last lap going over top of madness Engine trouble came along and had to limp in and cross the finish line on checker.  If I had not broke I would have finished second because of bill heumanns shifter being broken!  Over all though a great race and great learning experience..

Thank you to everyone for the advice and compliments.  I had many racers tell me they feel comfortable racing side by side with me already!  It was so awesome setting my best lap ever too!  I appreciate all of you fast guys being considerate while passing me too, and hope I didn't hold yall up.
