3 year old worn Hoosier wets didn't make for a comfortable race in the rain, but then i don't think it was much better for anyone else.  Biggest disappointment of the weekend was my camera battery dying before the fun battle I had with Aaron driving John D's car.

A lot of fun chasing and catching faster straight line cars and a couple of aggressive 'defenders'.

This was my second time to Calabogie and my first since they built the new facilities, it's no surprise how high a turnout there was, great facility and track!

I thought I knew the track but after two years it took a couple of sessions to get the rhythm back.  I run #113, an original 3.0L 1994 Euro M3 (#28 of 45), 3100 lbs full of fuel, in H Prepared.  Ran Friday on Hoosiers in HP and Sat and Sun ran with Pirelli slicks (first time for me for slicks) and switched to C Modified class as slicks are not allowed in H Prepared.  As Peter has done before me I am proceeding with eliminating as much weight as I can and run CM to save tires and brakes and of course to be able to run faster.  I won't be going to the extent Peter did (starting over with strip and dip) but I'll try to do as much as I can.

Qualified 10th Friday with 2:24 and finished 7th with best time 2:22, some fun at the start with the guys that were all at least a few seconds a lap faster so eventually of course they pull away....

On Saturday I qualify 6th with 2:19.8 and finish 4th with best time 2:19.48, this was fun...got ahead of Louie at the start and waved him by when he caught up (he's 2 sec a lap faster and battling with Jean Luc in front of me)...we race and we are competitive but I like that most of the racers respect this..if he's faster and not in your class then let him by.  The rain made it more interesting and fun for me.  As we stretch out in the race and I'm running on my own it can get boring, I'm glad I don't let up because  this gave me the chance to get by a couple near the end who had slowed down.  A little more rain would have been even better.

Sat finish qualifed for Sun so starting 4th was a new experience, with all the fast guys. Great except when I have to wave goodbye to them all when we get going......

I also learned to be careful with playing with the rear suspension, somehow I got the RR stiffer than the LR so the few tight lefthanders were more challenging on Sunday.

I also need to get a different camera that allows me to record a whole race, I missed out on recording some interesting moments.

This is a lot more boring than Peter's and Mark's but what a fun weekend!  First time on slicks this weekend, hard to go back to anything else now.alt

Back from my first trip to VIR, what a fun track, it lived up to all that I'd heard about it.

Here's my video of the Saturday Enduro start and a few laps
