Been driving on race tracks on and off for 10 years.
My first ever track event was a time trial at Lime Rock in 1999 in a bone stock '98 M3. Learned the track and pulled a 1:09 in the TT.
After sporadic DE participation from 2000 thru 2007 in a variety of cars and culminating in 20 or so track days, I dropped all other interests and imersed myself in the sport with the philosophy that "in order to go fast you first have to learn how to drive slow"
That said, in 2008 after graduating from the Skip Barber Race School (Road Atlanta) I methodically converted my M3 into race car for the BMWCCA's IP class. I scheduled my season to peak with the BMWCCA Race school and Club Race at O-Fest at Watkins Glen.
Additionally, in 2008 I was invited to attend the ITS with GVCBMWCCA. In 2009 I graduated from the ITS program.
On the race front, 2009 was a big learning year. I put in my dues, matriculated from rookie to racer status and experienced first hand how BMWCCA CR works with on track incidents. I experienced the high of running in front and the low of a non start due to mechanical problems.
